Our commitment to minimising our environmental impact is embedded into everything we do. A focus on repurposing and restoring existing resources has led the STRABAG Group to grow operations by adapting pre-existing sites into cutting-edge manufacturing facilities for precast concrete components.

By modifying these existing structures, we can maintain a low environmental footprint while ensuring the highest production quality and precision standards.

STRABAG UK embraces cutting-edge technology and environmentally friendly practices, continuing to push the boundaries of efficiency, sustainability, and excellence in manufacturing.

STRABAG UK Prefabrication

The STRABAG UK prefabrication facilities in the north of England use highly specialised and innovative robotics and automation technology to ensure enhanced safety, efficiency, and waste reduction in the tunnel segment manufacturing process.

Telemetry-controlled robots support the production of the reinforcement cages, while automation is used for welding work, which would have previously been performed manually.

Using robotics, combined with newly developed templates and optimised 3D reinforcement planning, ensures improved production quality and faster turnaround times.

Additionally, the automation technology at both the Hartlepool Advanced Manufacturing Facility and the Woodsmith Project significantly reduces steel reinforcement waste to near zero, contributing to enhanced efficiency across the production process.
