STRABAG UK accelerates energy sector growth with asset deal of high voltage transmission specialist company GTDS

STRABAG is delighted to announce today that they have finalised the acquisition of various assets of  Gunning Transmission & Distribution Services (GTDS), based in Stafford.

GTDS staff will join STRABAG UK to help add to its expanding energy portfolio.

As part of STRABAG UK’s growth strategy, the integration of GTDS assets represents a significant step in entering the regulated energy markets, enhancing the business’s energy capability through the addition of high-voltage installation and commissioning expertise. This new area of the business will continue to operate from its existing offices in Stafford, maintaining continuity for both clients and employees.

This development provides a strong platform to continue to support the delivery of fully integrated end-to-end energy services, from major infrastructure programmes in pumped-hydro and nuclear, to grid upgrade programmes.


  • We have been seeking to expand our UK presence in the high- voltage and energy sector, and the opportunity to bring specialist capability with a strong and talented team into STRABAG was one we could not ignore.
     
    This approach allows us to leverage our global-local model, enabling us to bring the best of STRABAG to this power infrastructure programme, which will contribute to upgrading and modernising the UK’s electricity network.
