SEGRO Logistics Park Radlett
STRABAG UK is delivering the building works for the Strategic Rail Freight Interchange at SEGRO Logistics Park Radlett in Hertfordshire.
This final phase includes significant earthworks and site preparation (in partnership with specialist subcontractors), construction of the new rail freight terminal (capable of handling up to 24 trains per day), preparation of plots for up to seven large distribution warehouses (totalling approximately 335,000 sq. m) and associated onsite infrastructure such as internal estate roads and the development plateau bund.
The package also encompasses offsite highway upgrades, including works on the A414 and the M25. The development will feature a modern rail freight terminal, large distribution warehouses, and over 600 acres of enhanced green space and country park.
Designed to shift freight from road to rail, the scheme will significantly reduce carbon emissions and ease congestion on the local and strategic road network.
Construction of this phase will continue over the next three years, delivering biodiversity net gain, local employment and training opportunities, and upgraded transport links for the benefit of the community.
