STRABAG UK completes exploratory tunnel for a pumped hydro storage project at Coire Glas in Loch Lochy, Scotland

STRABAG UK have completed the 1.2km long exploratory tunnel for SSE Renewables on the banks of Loch Lochy using the drill and blast technique. The multi-disciplinary team of over 100 members of staff set up a fully operational tunnel construction site in a remote location 20 miles from Fort William, Scotland in December 2022.

Major local road reopens after two-year realignment project as part of HS2 works

HS2 has completed a two-year project to rebuild a major road in west London – incorporating an improved section of the local highway into the high-speed rail scheme. The works were carried out by Skanska Costain STRABAG, the HS2 main works civil engineering contractor for the route area.

HS2 tunnel segments on the move from Hartlepool to London

Deliveries of HS2’s tunnel segments have begun from Hartlepool, using the UK’s rail network to minimise road traffic and drastically reduce carbon emissions, with the first services departing Hartlepool bound for HS2's London Logistics Hub.
